Moll came to 1860 in 2018 with leadership claims, was seriously injured twice and is currently “chasing music” (Köllner).

Does he get up again?

Seldom has a TSV 1860 starting eleven been as predictable as it is now, shortly before the restart of the 3rd division - and with the fresh impressions of the much-vaunted Belek camp.

Unless something unforeseen comes up, these eleven lions will appear in front of the Giesingen ghost backdrop on Saturday against Wiesbaden (2 p.m., live on MagentaSport): Marco Hiller in the gate, in the three-way defense Belkahia, Salger, Steinhart, the back four in front of that form Willsch, Deichmann , Dressel, Greilinger - and in the front captain Stefan Lex and Marcel Bär are supposed to score goals, "fed" by the courted ten Richard Neudecker.

For the time being, there is no place for the man who belongs to the manageable senior faction in the Löwen squad: Six Quirin Moll, 30 years old and equipped with experience from 48 second and 178 third division games.

Moll came from Braunschweig in 2018 with leadership claims, but the Lions from Giesing were bumpy from the start: Right cruciate ligament rupture (February 2, 2019, 343 days break), comeback with retraining as a central defender, left cruciate ligament rupture (January 18, 2021, 117 days out, this time without an operation) - Comeback on the bench in the missed relegation in Ingolstadt, of all things.

Then this season: form crisis.

Appearances that coach Michael Köllner described as "terrifying".

The result: Moll has been shuttling between the starting eleven and substitutes' bench since the fourth matchday.

He gave the impression of moving like a robot at times.

Like a heavy cupboard in place.

1860 coach Michael Köllner on Quirin Moll's first round appearances.

In the Belek camp it became clear that Köllner also plans to start the rest of the second half of the season without the experienced defensive man.

He didn't copy Moll - although the trainer puzzles as to why the model athlete got so out of step.

“It gave the impression of moving like a robot at times,” said Köllner at the beginning of the Belek camp: “Like a heavy cupboard in place.

Of course, he runs far behind the music. "

Köllner knows: A minor in top form would be like a new addition that in 1860 for known reasons (for the time being) could not afford.

"It would be important for us that he gets going," the coach exerted gentle pressure: "We don't have that many players with his experience."

A motivational hint? The fact that Köllner expects an explosion in performance at Moll is proven by the Dachauer's deployment statistics: twice it was force majeure that prevented the all-rounder from being appointed to the squad in the first half of the season (calf, quarantine). Moll was used in 17 of 20 games in the first half of the season, even if it was only for a minute (like in Dortmund). It was very bitter for Moll only once - when he stewed on the bench for 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw in Saarbrücken.

As a signal to the problem child, Moll was also allowed to prove himself at the league dress rehearsal against Rostock.

In the 54th minute he replaced Willsch, in 1860 he had just fallen behind.

In the end, Moll also had his share in the 3-1 victory - and got a few friendly words written in the studbook.

"Now he looks a bit more agile," said Köllner: "Maybe the new year will be another starting point for him."
