The tennis temple has been home to the tournament for several decades.

At that time the stadium was still called the "National Tennis Center at Flinders Park".
But the name is probably no longer a term for modern tennis fans.

Because Laver won around 200 individual titles in his career - including eleven Grand Slam titles.

Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne: tennis history is written on this surface
The game is played in Melbourne on
Plexicushion
, an acrylic-based flooring for hard tennis courts. But that wasn't always the case in the past. The new sub-floor was only laid in 2008. First there was a duel on Rebound Ace. However, the dampened tennis hard court surface caused controversial discussions among players.
Australian Open: did the surface increase the risk of injury?
According to the players, the course would become stickier with increasing temperatures, which would significantly increase the risk of injury.
Although research did not reveal any evidence of this, the players' request was ultimately given in.
Outside of the tennis tournament, the stars in the arena hold a knife in hand.
