Start of the Lauberhorn races: Simon Jocher fails to achieve top results

This time an extensive program awaits skiers in the Alpine World Cup in Wengen.

At the beginning, however, Simon Jocher was denied a top result.

Wengen - Simon Jocher waved briefly into the TV camera in the finish area, but the expression on his face indicated that he was rather moderately enthusiastic.

At the start of a total of three speed races in Wengen (Switzerland), the Schongauer had to be satisfied with a 23rd place in the Super-G on Thursday.

Jocher was 1.69 seconds behind the winner, the Swiss Marco Odermatt.

The Schongauer had started the race with the starting number 34, when he entered the passage called “Kernen-S” he had some problems.

These had a negative effect in the further course.

If he was 33 hundredths behind Odermatt in the first interim period, the deficit grew gradually.

At the finish he was initially in 21st place.

The best German on the Lauberhorn slope was Romed Baumann in fourth, he was three hundredths too slow for a podium place.

Josef Ferstl confirmed increasing form in sixth place.

On Friday and Saturday there is still one descent on the program (each start at 12.30 p.m.).

The slalom rises on Sunday.
