FC Bayern has to go to 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga.
FC coach Steffen Baumgart allows himself a joke before the duel - FCB coach Nagelsmann likes it.
Cologne/Munich – FC Bayern* is dealing with a bold opponent.
The series champion is a guest at 1. FC Köln on Saturday.
Coach Steffen Baumgart has led the carnival club to sixth place in the Bundesliga, and in the cathedral city the revelers are already dreaming of the European Cup again.
Only against Bayern does it not really want to work out for the coach.
Baumgart is celebrated by FCB coach Julian Nagelsmann for his statements before the duel.
FC Bayern: Cologne coach Baumgart makes a joke
Steffen Baumgart has lost his previous three Bundesliga duels against FC Bayern.
The 50-year-old even suffered a 6-0 defeat with Paderborn in the DFB Cup.
When asked how much he "personally itches" to get something countable against Bayern, Baumgart answered at the press conference in his usual cheeky manner.
"How much it itches me personally?
If it itches, scratch it,” said Baumgart mischievously, triggering a great deal of laughter among the journalists present in Geißbockheim.
Even the 50-year-old couldn't help but laugh heartily.
After a brief apology, however, he turned to Bayern.

FC Bayern: Cologne coach Baumgart aggressive before the duel
"You can get Bayern. There's too much talk about the fact that we don't have a chance," said Baumgart.
"Yes, we have a great chance of winning on Saturday. I have a good feeling. We want to close the big gap we have to Bayern Munich."
Bayern are the best team, but that's exactly where the attraction lies.
Of course, you need "excellent performance" and, above all, trust in your own strength.
That's why the coach sees "no chances of success" if he abandons his approach, stressed Baumgart and demanded: "We want to assert our football. It doesn't matter which opponent it's against. We know that it's harder against Bayern. We'll stick to ours way we want to play football."

FC Bayern: After Baumgart joke – Nagelsmann distributes praise
A day later, Julian Nagelsmann reacted coolly to the statements made by his coaching colleague at Bayern-PK and even praised him: “I noticed it well.
He's an extremely cool guy and a good coach.
He plays attractive football and sticks to his line.”
"The statement reminded me a lot of myself when I coached other clubs.
At my first professional club (TSG Hoffenheim), I used to make brash statements like that before the games.
I think you have to do that in order to actually have a chance,” explained Nagelsmann, who is looking forward to seeing a “real guy” again.
On the other hand, Baumgart hopes that as many players as possible can be there with the corona-plagued Bavarians.
"You always want to play against the best, I'm looking forward to the game," said the coach, before adding: "I want to win against Bayern, for God's sake, I don't know anyone who doesn't want that." Bayern However, we will have to do without Alphonso Davies in the long term, the Canadian is suffering from heart muscle inflammation after his corona infection.
