The hosts started scoring through Danish striker Kasper Dolberg in the 21st minute from a penalty kick, and the guests equalized through Brazilian midfielder Andre Girouto in the 45th minute.
In the second half, Nice scored the lead through midfielder Kifrin Thuram Olian in the 56th minute.
With this result, Nice raised its score to 39 points, runners-up, 8 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain. On the other hand, Nantes's balance froze at 29 points, in ninth place.
