For a long time it looked like FC St. Pauli would lose their home game against Erzgebirge Aue until Joker Etienne Ameniydo saved the leader.

SC Paderborn moves up to sixth place after beating Nürnberg.

Niclas Füllkrug scored twice in Werder Bremen's comfortable home win against Düsseldorf.

Werder Bremen quickly took control of the game in the first half, pressed behind the Düsseldorf defense with long balls and thus created opportunities through Niclas Füllkrug (9th minute), Leonardo Bittencourt (15th) and Marvin Ducksch (20th). After that, Düsseldorf got into the game better and became more stable in defense. On the offensive, on the other hand, not much went together with the guests. Symptomatic: the most dangerous situations came from left-back Nicolas Gavory (22nd, 33rd, 45th + 2).

The second half began without a goal, but with a serious foul: Kristoffer Peterson rushed both feet into Felix Agu, who had the ball. Referee Tobias Reichel showed the red card (58th). After a short corner, Füllkrug crossed in the penalty area and headed in from a short distance (66'). Shortly thereafter, after good combinations in midfield, the ball came to Ducksch, who made it 2-0 from ten meters (80'). Düsseldorf looked tired after that, after substitute Florian Hartherz lost the ball, Ducksch put it across to Füllkrug, who pushed into the empty goal to make it 3-0 (87th).

1. FC Nürnberg got into the game well and disrupted the counterattacking Paderborn early on. Manuel Schäffler turned Nuremberg's lead upside down after a cross from Enrico Valentini, but put the ball wide to the left of the goal (15th minute). Johannes Geis had the next chance after a pass from the left with a ball from 23 meters out, but Paderborn goalkeeper Jannik Huth was able to clear the ball (29'). Paderborn came into play better after that and also had more possession of the ball. Shortly before the break it was Sven Michel, who was outstanding this season, who caught a ball from the half field in the penalty area from the air and then slotted it in to make it 1-0 (41st). A little later he crossed from the baseline to Felix Platte, who headed the ball to make it 2-0 (44').

In the second half Nürnberg started strong again, combined a few times and then in the 60th minute after Pascal Köpke's cross, Mats Møller Dæhli scored the goal with a header (60'). In the style of a top team, Paderborn then picked up the tempo again at will and Platte had the 3:1 on his foot when he passed a cross from the right (67th). In a game that was then at odds with yellow cards every minute (87th, 89th , 90th, 90th +1) the Nurembergers couldn't keep up and had to admit defeat to the Paderborners, who had moved up within striking distance to the relegation rank.

Leaders FC St. Pauli lived up to their role as favorites right from the start, had more time in the game and also had the first big chance through Jackson Irvine, whose shot from eleven meters away was blocked by Ben Zolinski with his foot. Three minutes later, Aue attacker Zolinski appeared in front of the Hamburg goal after a counterattack and pushed in from seven meters to give Aue a surprising lead (17'). St. Pauli then tried to control the game again, but rarely got into the spaces behind the Aue defence. Only after a set piece did they equalise. After a free kick from the right, Jakov Medicam headed the ball over the line at the far post (30'). St. Pauli then became noticeably more secure and constricted Aue in their own half. Irvine (45 + 1) and Marcel Hartel (45.+3) could have increased their chances before the break.

The second half began again with a chance for St. Pauli (Irvine, 47'), but Aue increased the pressure after a short finding phase.

After two chances from the great newcomer Prince Osei Owusu (56', 58'), Aue was waiting for a counterattack and was rewarded in the 72nd minute with Nikola Trujic's header.

It was the first goal of the season for the previously substituted Serb.

With Etienne Amenyido (70th), Igor Matanovic (75th) and Finn Ole Becker (76th), St Pauli coach Tim Schultz made an offensive change.

And even if it looked like an Aue victory for a long time, St. Pauli rewarded itself late. Ameniydo got the ball on the right corner of the penalty area, prevailed against two defenders and finished with a flick to equalize 2.2 (90+3). .
