PSG-Brest: a group without Messi (we knew it) but also without Bernat, with Simons and Michut

2022-01-15T10:47:12.654Z

Mauricio Pochettino has unveiled the list of players selected for the Ligue 1 match this Saturday evening. As expected Lionel Messi is not included.

His name did not appear in the medical bulletin communicated Friday by the PSG.

Finally Juan Bernat is there this Saturday when the club announced the list of 21 players selected to face Brest at 9 p.m. this Saturday, in front of 5,000 spectators, at the Parc des Princes.

“As part of post Covid-19 monitoring, it will be spared this weekend pending further examinations at the start of the week”, indicates the PSG.

The Spanish left-back was one of the first players to test positive after returning from the end of the year holidays.

Remained in isolation, he had missed the trip to Vannes in the Coupe de France before taking his place on the bench but without coming into play in Lyon (1-1).

Back in training this week, it was therefore decided to spare him.

This is also the case of Lionel Messi who is still working on the sidelines and for whom the club has spoken of a "good" development.

Before specifying: “he continues his work with the medical and performance staff and will gradually reintegrate the group next week”.

On the other hand, we note the presence of Xavi Simons and Édouard Michut whose appearances in Lyon had done a lot of good.

As a reminder, Hakimi, Gueye - tested positive this week with Senegal - and Diallo are CAN.

Among the players who were not selected are Kurzawa and several young people: Bitshiabu, Yansané, Gharbi, Bitumazala and Lavallée.
