Ski racer Kira Weidle achieved the best World Cup result of her career three weeks before the start of the Olympic Games.
On the downhill in Zauchensee, Austria, the Vice World Champion took second place behind Lara Gut-Behrami from Switzerland.
It was only her fourth trip to a World Cup podium after three third places.
"It means a lot to me," said Weidle, "especially because the first races didn't go that way."
The result gives »of course self-confidence for the Olympics«.
Exactly one month before the start of the Olympic downhill, the 25-year-old was only 0.10 seconds short of the first victory of her career.
Third on the spectacular Kälberloch piste was Ramona Siebenhofer from Austria (+0.44 seconds).
The Olympic and serial winner Sofia Goggia from Italy fell, but was able to cross the finish line on her own.
