The basketball team from TSV Jahn Freising didn't stand a chance against the third-placed team in the Bayernliga Süd.
They clearly lost at MTV Munich with 56:84 (18:27, 26:46, 42:69).

When the Freisingers gathered in the dressing room for a meeting during half-time, the mood was depressed.
The Jahn team was behind at 26:46.
That was obvious.
"Some of our players were already very broken," reports coach Michael Buhl.
It was already clear that the Freisingers had started third in the table as clear outsiders.
On the other hand, they figured out a certain outsider chance.
There were two legitimate reasons for this: On the one hand, they were equal for a long time in the first leg and only lost the game in the final spurt.
On the other hand, the Freisingers started the new year with great strength, they clearly won the basement derby against SG Heising-Kottern with 91:66.
Underneath the basket
It didn't look so bad at first. "We got off to a good start and the initial phase was okay," said Buhl. "I gave Daniel Baierlacher the special protection for the strongest player from Munich, a tall, massive and very athletic player. And Daniel did a great job.” Of course, that wasn't nearly enough. The longer the first half lasted, the more dominant the Munich team came out on top. "That was mainly due to the physical superiority of the hosts," said Michael Buhl. On average, the MTV team was almost a head taller than the Jahn team. This was noticeable under the basket. The hosts secured a lot of offensive rebounds and thus received their second or third shot chance again and again. "Because they also met their threesomes,we were a long way behind at half-time,” said Buhl in his analysis. He also pointed out that his team was much better staffed in the first leg than this time. "We're just still missing a few top performers."
Despite being behind, Freising didn't let their heads down in the second half, but struggled with the Munich team's clever zone coverage.
Although they shifted down a gear, they controlled the game until the end.

The Freisingers will probably face their next defeat on Wednesday, January 19th, when they have to catch up with league leaders TS Jahn Munich.
