Franconian usury plays Bears in the cards

Not played well, but won, could be the conclusion of SE Freising's state league home game against Bayreuth.

– The 4:2 win against EHC Bayreuth was the successful return of SEF coach Nils Hanfstingl to the bench after his short maternity leave.

But what the Freisinger Eishackler offered was not sovereign.

In the end, the poor exploitation of chances by the guests and once again an outstanding SEF keeper Manuel Hanisch ensured the narrow home win for the hosts.

The hosts were a bit lucky in the lead (6th). A rebound came to Florian Heilmaier, who slammed the puck into the net. This meant that Freising was involved and subsequently had further good chances through Heilmaier, Nolan Regan and Sami Hamza. SEF captain Peter Meier made it 2-0 (14th) when Theo Ziegelhöffer put the disc through him on the right in front of the goal and all he had to do was hold out the bat. This lead also lasted at the break because Hanisch held on to zero with an amazing save against EHC striker Aschenbrenner. Freising's number 82 got a lot of work because the people in front allowed too much.

The Tigers had almost twice as many high-profile chances as the Black Bears.

But Bayreuth once again exploited their chances and got the reward.

Nikolas Schünemann and Sami Hamza conquered the disc with a man down and stormed towards the guest goal.

EHC keeper Dünkel was able to parry Hamza's backhand shot, but he was powerless against Schünemann's follow-up shot to make it 3-0 (32nd).

The Upper Franconia still didn't give up and pushed for their first goal.

That only came in the final third through Andreas Geigenmüller, who used an SEF error to make it 3-1 (42nd) for Bayreuth when he was outnumbered.

Despite three more overtime situations, the Black Bears didn't manage to decide the game.

The guests had the better chances through Schmidt (latte) and Zimmer (annulled goal).

Although Geigenmüller scored the 3:2 goal in the 60th minute, it came too late.

The next action brought the decision in favor of the Black Bears.
