The draw for the Asian Football Confederation Cup, which took place today in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, resulted in the representatives of the Syrian football, Jableh and Tishreen falling into the first and third groups, respectively.
The Jableh team (the Republic Cup champion) plays in the first group along with the Lebanese Al-Ansar, the Omani Al-Seeb and the Kuwaiti Kuwait, while the Tishreen team (the league champion in the previous season) plays in the third group along with the Lebanese star, the Bahraini Riffa and the Palestinian Hilal Al-Quds.
The participating teams are divided into three groups, each of which includes four teams, from which the leader of each group and the best second-place holder qualifies for the semi-finals of the West Asian region.
On the other hand, Al-Jaish team will play with Saudi Al-Taawon on the fifteenth of next March in the Asian play-off match for the group stage of the AFC Champions League, with the winner of this match joining the fourth group, which includes Al Duhail of Qatar, Sepahan of Iran and Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan.
The teams participating in the competition were divided into five groups in West Asia and the same in the East, with each group comprising four teams.
