The Karate Federation held physical and technical tests for the distinguished players in the republic’s championships that took place last year for the age groups under 16 and 18 for males and females on the Al-Jalaa stadium track, the national team hall and the indoor hall in Al-Jalaa Sports City in Damascus in preparation for the upcoming championships.
In a statement to SANA, a member of the Football Association and the official of the teams, Suhail Salman, confirmed that the tests were carried out according to high selection criteria that were set by the national team selection committee in partnership with the union committees in accordance with internationally approved standards.
Salman indicated that training in this game depends on scientific methods to reach the player to the highest levels, pointing out that endurance and strength tests are very important because they help the player perform fast, short and strong contractions during fights.
The head of the National Teams Committee, Khaldoun Zahreddine, stated that the distinguished players in the recent championships of the Republic, amounting to 100 male and female players, were chosen to participate in these experiments to select the best and include him in the team’s ranks to be taken care of, refined and qualified for external participation, indicating that during the experiments a noticeable discrepancy appeared in the technical and physical level. For male and female players, although there are a large amount of materials that need attention and care.
It is noteworthy that the national teams selection committee consisted of Khaldoun Zahreddine, Abdel Majid Al Sharif, Ali Hashish, Mahmoud Darghali, Nabil Dahi, Lulu Qala Ji, Adnan Laundi, Nawras Al Hamwi, and Moataz Abu Aleika.
