The EV Moosburg managed to stay up in the state league early and is playing in the promotion round to the Bavarian league.

It continues on January 28th.

Moosburg

- This was made possible by a 9:2 win by ESV Waldkirchen over Trostberg on Sunday.

Theoretically, the Trostbergers can no longer catch up with the EVM - the green-yellow have at least fifth place for sure.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Which position the EVM ends up with depends on the results of the catch-up games next weekend.

EV Pegnitz (home game against Hassfurt) and TSV Trostberg (home game against Selb) are still fighting for the last ticket in a long-distance duel.

In addition to Moosburg, EV Dingolfing, ESC Haßfurt and ESV Waldkirchen have already qualified for the promotion round.

First and second place qualify for the playoffs

The top five of Landesliga 1 will complete an intermediate round with a return match after the preliminary round.

If this can be completed without major cancellations due to the pandemic, it is planned that places one and two will move into the promotion playoffs against the clubs from Group 2.

A goal that the Moosburgers, who have now been freed from all relegation nightmares, are only too happy to tackle, according to board member Bernhard Loidl: “Of course we also want to play a good role in the intermediate round.

If it's possible to finish in the top two, then of course we want to take the chance.

But the favorites in the race for promotion are others – like Dingolfing, Waldkirchen or Haßfurt.”

The competition has upgraded again

Loidl knows, especially since the competitors have added personnel.

In particular, ESV Waldkirchen presented a real grenade with ex-DEL player Nathan Robinson.

The 40-year-old was German champion three times with the Adler Mannheim and the Eisbären Berlin and is the seventh foreigner in the Crocodiles squad.

But table leader Dingolfing also had a third contingent player in the form of the Czech David Michel.

No further reinforcements are planned at the EVM, according to Loidl.

With the victories over Haßfurt and Dingolfing, the green and yellow proved that they can also keep up with the “big ones”.
