Scheduled for this Saturday, the trip of Parisians to Burgundy has been postponed due to numerous positive cases in the Auxerre ranks.

Forced rest for Paris FC!

The day after his frustrating split of points (2-2) at Le Mans against Le Havre, the capital club learned on Tuesday morning that he would be out of work this weekend.

The trip scheduled for Saturday afternoon (3 p.m.) in Auxerre for the shock at the top of the 22nd day has been postponed due to numerous positive cases of Covid-19 in the ranks of the Burgundy club.

The trip from Pau to Nîmes is also postponed.

“Following the opinion of the Covid FFF national commission concerning the number of players from AJ Auxerre and Nîmes Olympique who tested positive and were definitely absent for their matches against Paris FC and Pau FC, the LFP Competitions Commission, acting within the framework of chapter 2.4.2.2 of the protocol for the organization of matches for the 2021-22 season, decides to postpone the matches,” the Football League announced on Tuesday morning.

📈 With this parity score, @ParisFC is at the foot of the podium and @HAC_Foot remains 6th!

Both matches are rescheduled for Tuesday, February 1.

The duel between two contenders for the rise in Ligue 1 - Auxerre is 5th and Paris FC 4th - will be broadcast on BeIN Sports.

A program that is not without posing some concerns for Parisians. Thierry Laurey's players, who have already seen their match against Dunkirk on the 20th day postponed for health reasons, will have to string together several meetings in a short time. They will move to Dunkirk on January 28, then on February 1 to Auxerre before receiving Ajaccio on February 7 and Quevilly on February 12. These last two games should not be played at Charléty due to the stadium's five-game suspension sanction following the incidents against Lyon on December 17. Paris FC is still waiting to be summoned by the FFF's higher appeal commission to hope for a reduced sentence.

Postponing the trip to Auxerre could, on the other hand, allow the club from the capital to recover the players who left to compete in the CAN in Cameroon (Name, Guilavogui and Kanté) and allow others to find their rhythm after being hit by the Covid.

Last weekend four Ligue 2 matches were postponed due to too many contaminations in the clubs.

The LFP's medical protocol allows the rescheduling of a match when one of the two teams cannot field twenty suitable players, including a goalkeeper, from an official list of thirty names, i.e. from eleven positive cases.
