Paris Saint-Germain are confident they can persuade Killian Ambape to extend his contract at the club, sources told ESPN.
The French star's current contract expires in June, but sources claim his family has been in talks with Paris chiefs over a short-term extension, and recent meetings have been positive.
PSG have more confidence that the striker will sign an extension as Ambape, just 23, has changed his mind about leaving the City of Lights.
PSG's optimism stems from a number of reasons.
The first is the fact that she is sure that the financial offer to Ambape that will make him a senior earner at the club will be large enough that he will not give it up.
Second, the potential arrival of Zinedine Zidane at the Parc de France next season is another factor that could influence Ambape to extend his stay.
Last month it was reported that PSG had contacted Zidane to see if he would like to replace Mauricio Pochettino who was squinting back into the Premier League, and it is known that Ambape's youth idol is a former France captain and he will not miss an opportunity to work with him.
