The MS Ashdod group announced today (Tuesday) that the connection between Firas Abu Aqal and Kura is positive, after conducting a PCR test.
The player has been in isolation since Friday following a borderline positive corona test, and was therefore not included in the squad for the last game against Hadera.
Now Abu Aqal will complete the remaining days of isolation and then return to team training.
This is Ashdod's third player to be diagnosed in recent days as positive for the virus, after Timothy Avani and Monterey Kamhani were diagnosed as positive for Corona and they also did not play against Hadera.
Also in Ashdod, the fear of breaking the leg of Yoav Jaffy, who was injured in the last game, was ruled out.
The goalkeeper will undergo further tests over the next few days to assess the severity of the injury.
