For three months, nothing worked for the sports bowlers in Bavaria due to the corona.

Now the restart took place - and Eric Kühberger provided a real highlight at his home appearance with SKC Eberfing.

Eberfing – the “foreign rule” on the Eberfingen bowling alley lasted 2653 days. That's how long the track record set by Christian Prescher from EV Landshut in October 2014 lasted. In the following years, everyone bit their teeth on its 623 wood. Eric Kühberger set a new record for the restart of the sport bowlers in the Free State. With 646 wood (407 in full / 239 in clearing) he not only pulverized the previous top value on Saturday, but also ensured that the track record is back in Eberfinger's hands. For classification: In the entire 1st league and in the 2nd league south, only three bowlers achieved a better result than the state league player at the weekend.

Eric Kühberger (best performance so far 617 wood) succeeded in "four dream runs", praised Gut-Holz player Andreas Gattinger.

On the first hole he started brilliantly with 174 wood.

He just missed the single lane record of 179 wood.

In the following rounds he maintained the high level (149/160/163).

"It's not that easy," Gattinger said.

Especially since the direct competitor Andreas Bauer, after a strong start (151), but slacked off.

So Kühberger no longer had to shine, but he did it anyway.

Together with teammate Markus Lindner (556), Kühberger also decided the game against SKC Töging-Erharting II, which had been balanced until then.

Eric Kühberger screwed Eberfinger track record to 646 wood

With the 6:2 home win (3394:3232 wood), the Eberfinger also consolidated their position in the Landesliga Süd.

With 10:6 points they are hot on the heels of the top teams Alle Neune Thal (14:2) and SKC Unterthingau (12:4).

Gattinger himself put it rather cautiously: "We're a little bit involved." The duel with the Tögingers, who came with a strong cast and two second division players, was "super exciting and very fair".

In the starting duels, Gattinger (518 wood/3:1 sets) and Tobias Zahler (583/3:1) each scored a team point.

Hubert Resch (557/1:3) and Alois Kriesmair (534/2:2) then lost their duels.

In the case of Kriesmair, it was a whole two woods that he lacked for the team point.

With the score at 2:2 and a small lead of just 14 wood, “everything was still open,” said Gattinger.

Even after the first set in the final couple, there was still no sign of a clear success.

Although Kühberger (174) trumped and Lindner (151) played well.

But the Töginger Bauer (151) and David Giesecke (148) kept their team within striking distance.

In the second set, the hosts took a clear lead and made up 42 wood.

In the end, Kühberger and Lindner won all sets and screwed the overall result to 3394 wood.

Gut Holz has never been so good at home this season.
