Barcelona qualified for the Spanish Super Cup final on Wednesday after overcoming Real Madrid's resistance with a goal from Alexia Putellas in added time.
The Ballon d'Or and The Best award resolved a fast-paced duel in Las Rozas (1-0).
Barcelona tried to impose a high pace of play from the start and had several scoring chances to open the scoring in the first half, but Rolfo, Martens and Guijarro successively ran into Misa, the great protagonist of the duel. The interventions of the Madrid goalkeeper allowed her team to cling to the game and, as the minutes went by, deploy dangerously on the counterattack. Athenea fired first, in a shot that went over the crossbar, and, immediately afterwards, Zornoza's shot crashed into the Paños goalpost.
Barcelona's positional dominance turned into a sequence of constant attacks, barely contained by Misa and the Madrid defense.
The group led by Toril, who had not competed for almost a month due to the imbalances in the calendar caused by the suspension of matches, resorted to positional application to consolidate their resistance.
However, in the 91st minute, fatigue took its toll on the Madrid rearguard, who conceded a run by Hermoso down the right flank that ended up finding a crack in the white team's containment dam.
After a succession of rebounds, Putellas picked up the ball in the center of the area, next to the penalty spot, and beat Misa with a powerful right foot.
This Thursday the other semifinal is played (19.45, Tdp) between Atlético and Levante.
In the rojiblanco team, Virginia Torrecilla returns to a call after almost two years out, after recovering from a brain tumor.
The final is played on Sunday at 12.00.
