The Freising tennis talents suffered defeats in the qualifiers for the southern Bavarian indoor championship.

It was particularly bitter for Jonas Jungmeier.

District

– Jonas Jungmeier from the host TC Rot-Weiss was the focus of the Freising tournament games in the qualifier for the southern Bavarian indoor tennis championship: The local hero played a game that couldn't be surpassed in terms of excitement in the round of 16, but was eliminated early in the end.

For other participants from the district, the top-class youth tournaments for eleven to 14-year-old young talents were not under a good star either.

Pure drama in the match tie break

Jonas Jungmeier was number four in the U14 seeding list and should have made it into the final to reach the southern Bavarian championship.

That seemed difficult, but not impossible, given a field that was very even, based on the performance classes of the participants.

With a performance class of 13.2, Jungmeier even had a better value than the top seeded Antonio Erede (13.5) from Dingolfing, who ultimately won the competition.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

After a bye in the first round, Jonas Jungmeier met Maximilian Danielauer from Fürstenzell in the round of 16, with whom he fought a high-class duel on an equal footing. After a true tennis battle, the young man from Domstadt was only missing two points to win in the 6:7, 7:5, 9:11 defeat. The match tie break was also the highlight of the game from a dramaturgical point of view: Jungmeier was initially 2:5 behind, then fought back and had two match points at a score of 9:7. But his opponent then made four points in a row. Danielauer immediately converted his first match point and then made it to the final. In the semi-finals he won against second-seeded Dominik Breinbauer (Fürstenzell), who had defeated Korbinian Hölzl from TC Rot-Weiß Freising 6-0, 6-2 in his first match.

Freisinger girls are eliminated early

In the male age groups U12 and U11 no district players started.

Due to a lack of reports, there was only one U14 competition for the girls: In Hengersberg, Freisingers lost Diana Soller (2:6, 2:6 against Lorena Lorenz/Hengersberg) and Hannah Neumann (0:6, 0:6 against Carolin Landl/Hengersberg). ) in the first round.
