The highlight of every ski winter is on the weekend of January 21st to 23rd: The Streif in Kitzbühel.
Deep Ida whirls the plans but now confused.
Kitzbühel - It is the event par excellence in every ski winter: Kitzbühel, Streif, Hahnenkamm race - there are many names for the winter sports highlight, but one thing is always the same: pure adrenaline.
It will be the same in 2022, when the drivers will race down the slopes at 150 kilometers an hour.
From a German point of view, there was already the first moment of shock during training: Josef Ferstl fell on Wednesday and had to be taken to a clinic by rescue helicopter.
But he got away with a black eye - or a scraped nose and bruises.
Whether he can start at the weekend will probably be decided in the short term.
Kitzbühel: New date for Hahnenkamm downhill run - only Friday Streif as planned
The fact is: the weather is throwing the Streif plans upside down!
Two departures were actually planned for Friday and Saturday.
A slalom was also on the program on Sunday.
But now there are new appointments, as the organizer announced on the Hahnenkamm website.
Deep Ida ensures that the Saturday departure is moved to Sunday (1:30 p.m.).
The slalom, originally scheduled to end the race weekend, will be brought forward a day and will be held on Saturday (10.15/13.45).
The two races are swapped.
Kitzbühel: Streif ski highlight with changed dates - new schedule
Friday, 11:30 a.m.: | Departure gentlemen |
Saturday, 10.15 a.m./1.45 p.m.: | Slalom men |
Sunday, 1.30 p.m.: | Departure gentlemen |
The first descent on the Streif is scheduled to take place on Friday (11:30 a.m.), and a second training session was scheduled for Thursday (11:30 a.m.).
The reason for the changes is the new snow of 30 to 60 centimeters expected for Saturday.
"It will be a challenge even for the slalom," said FIS race director Markus Waldner.
The postponements also affect the program at the Women's World Cup in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
One year after her World Championship silver in the Italian Dolomites, Kira Weidle doesn't have to do the downhill until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The Super-G on Sunday starts at 11.45 a.m.
