The ESV Staffelsee continues to complain about personnel problems.

That's why coach Andreas Mayr dares an experiment in the game of the basketball Bayernliga Süd against TSV Jahn Freising.

Freising –

The Bayernliga basketball team from ESV Staffelsee have completed their first full week of training under their new coach Andreas Mayr.

He draws a positive summary, but at the same time has to announce bad news before the game on Saturday (6.30 p.m.) at TSV Jahn Freising.

Good training week, bad news

First the good news: "I'm extremely impressed with how the team is accepting the current situation," emphasizes Mayr.

During the week he was also able to welcome the players in training who are studying in Munich but still made the journey to Murnau.

The coach sees that as a plus.

On the other hand, there are also two new minus points.

Jonas Dotzer will not be able to play against Freising due to illness.

In addition, Quentin Brugger injured his ankle during a session, but will probably be able to play.

Nevertheless: "I don't know how many more failures the team can take." Especially since with Dotzer one of those who can raise the game has to pass.

Center have to play as a build-up player

This situation forces Mayr to experiment.

Against Freising, Stephan Adelberger and Benedikt Beinhofer – both centers – will have to try their hand at building up.

"This is going to be exciting.

But both have a good feeling for the game and move to the basket,” Mayr is optimistic.

In addition, Moritz Cejka will help out again from the second.

It remains to be seen whether this will also apply to Marco Ehling.

In addition, Mayr suspects that the opponent will also have to experiment.

"Both of Freising's top scorers weren't there in the last two games." Mayr speaks of Michael Babl and Tim Peisker.

At the same time, however, this poses new problems for the ESV.

Because he doesn't know what to expect.

"Freising is not to be assessed that way."

Objective: three wins from the next four games

Nevertheless, Mayr wants to win his first win as an ESV coach and break away from TSV in the table.

At the same time, the gap to the lower ranks in the classification should increase.

In the next four games, the goal is to get three wins.

"So that we no longer have anything to do with relegation." Then it would be much easier in Murnau to give young players from the second more chances.

"But they shouldn't make their debut if we absolutely have to win so that they can make mistakes."
