Russian Daniil Medvedev booked his place in the fourth round of the Australian Open for the fourth year in a row, after defeating Dutchman Boutik van Zandscholp today.
Medvedev overcame his Dutch opponent by 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 in a match that lasted one hour and 55 minutes, and Medvedev struck a fourth-round meeting with American Maxime Crissy.
Medvedev, runner-up in the Australian Championship last year, is among the most prominent candidates to win the title this year, in the absence of his Serbian holder, Novak Djokovic, who was deported from Australia for not receiving the anti-Coronavirus vaccine.
