Türkgücü Munich – TSV 1860: game officially canceled – all lion players in quarantine

The Munich derby between TSV 1860 and Türkgücü Munich has been cancelled.

Due to several corona cases, the entire Löwen team has to be in quarantine.

Munich – Almost an hour and a half before the scheduled kick-off at 2 p.m., a hammer message follows: The Munich Lions’ game against Türkgücü has been canceled.

On the day of the match, TSV 1860 had several positive corona tests.

The Munich health department subsequently ordered the game to be canceled and the entire team to be quarantined.

The club does not reveal which and how many players tested positive.

On Tuesday, TSV 1860 was eliminated in the cup against Karlsruher SC - the Badeners subsequently had a major corona outbreak, which has now also hit the lions.

"Due to an official order from the Munich Health Department, the entire team and support staff of TSV 1860 Munich were quarantined.

Therefore, the game against Türkgücü Munich on Saturday afternoon cannot take place.

After the corona outbreak at the DFB Cup opponent Karlsruher SC, the entire team of TSV 1860 Munich was subjected to daily tests.

These test series brought only negative results until Thursday.

In yesterday's test series, however, there were several positive cases, which prompted the Munich health department to quarantine the team.

From the Lions' point of view, this is all the more annoying because the entire team has adhered to an internally defined, meticulous hygiene concept for the past two years, which has meant that several players or members of the coaching and functional team have never been infected by corona at the same time were affected.

The positive cases occurred with members of the Löwen team who were in closed rooms with players and officials of the KSC as part of the doping control and other joint mandatory appointments.

All people who tested positive have no or only mild symptoms.

TSV 1860: catch-up date for the Türkgücü game has not yet been set

The DFB officials canceled the city duel in the 3rd division between Türkgücü Munich and TSV 1860 Munich a few hours before kick-off on Saturday afternoon.

A catch-up date for the game has not yet been set.

The health authorities of the city of Munich will determine when TSV 1860 Munich can resume training.

The scheduled implementation of the next game on Tuesday (from 7 p.m.) against 1. FC Kaiserslautern is also in serious jeopardy.”
