SV Vötting elected a new board of directors at an extraordinary general meeting outdoors.

The club has thus averted the impending end.

Freising

– It was cold and wet when, due to the corona virus, almost 80 members gathered in the parking lot in front of the Vöttinger Sportheim on Saturday afternoon to give the club, which has been practically without a leader since the end of October, a perspective again.

The old management team did not appear at the most recent annual general meeting (we reported).

All efforts to find a successor for the outgoing chairman Werner Vogl and his team failed at the time.

And that despite the fact that it was rumored that the association, which has over 900 members, might be dissolved.

A ten-member main committee has since been busy finding a solution.

Applause for the chairman-elect

With success, as election officer Florian Warmuth noted on Saturday afternoon at the "open-air event".

The BLSV district chief presented the election procedure as a sticking point. He suggested voting on the individual vacant posts by show of hands.

Otherwise one would have to vote in writing, which would unnecessarily prolong the matter.

Those assembled then unanimously voted for an election by acclamation.

After that, it went in quick succession.

First, the candidates introduced themselves - and above all the designated new chairman Markus Schappert (48) took the microphone: "I've been a member of Vötting for over 30 years," said Schappert, who was already a youth leader and AH leader in the club.

After long discussions, he decided to run for the office of 1st Chairman.

Schappert assured him that the club, which will be 75 years old next year, is very important to him.

Together with other committed people, he therefore decided to take responsibility, he explained and received applause for it.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The rest was a mere formality

The choice itself was ultimately a mere formality. The meeting voted unanimously for Reinhard Sigl as 2nd chairman, Stefan Holzer as 1st treasurer and Norbert Hubensteiner as his deputy. All members also raised their hands for 1st secretary Christine Eberl and her deputy Thomas Stable as well as for 1st and 2nd youth spokesman Tino Paul and Thomas Maehmel. Schappert, who was also put into office unanimously, showed his determination after his election: One of the most pressing tasks was to find a new host for the club restaurant and a solution for the long-needed third pitch as soon as possible. "Now the time has come, now we have to do something." Schappert referred to a finished concept that everyone can see on the SVV website. long-term planning, which we now have to put into practice together.
