At the end of the preliminary round of the state league, the ice hackers of the Black Bears Freising once again exploited their chances and lost 7-1 to ESC Haßfurt.

Freising

– The Freisinger Eishackler suffered a clear 1:7 defeat in the last preliminary round match against ESC Haßfurt.

The hosts in the Weihenstephan Arena weren't the worse team for half an hour - they even had a lot more chances than their opponents.

But as in the early stages of the season, the necessary cleverness and accuracy were lacking at the end.

Freising misses many opportunities

In addition, the SEF cracks invited the team from Haßfurt, which was peppered with four imported players, to score goals through their own mistakes.

Just like in the first round, when Nolan Regan lost the disc while moving forward and ESC scored the opening goal through Michael Stach (9th).

Otherwise, the Hawks mostly had to defend themselves against Freising's attacks.

In the end, however, they were mostly too unplaced, were parried by goalkeeper Luca Feitl or ended up on the post of the Hassfurt goal.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

In return, the guests demonstrated how ice-cold exploiting of opportunities works: Lukas Kratschmer practically increased the third opportunity at the beginning of the second period for the ESC to 2-0 (22nd).

The Domstadt team continued to squander the best chances before Tomas Pribyl used the Hawks' superior number to score a third goal (39').

Kratschmer increased the result even before the break siren - the 4:0 for the guests.

Quirin Oexler scored the consolation goal in Freising

With that the game was over. The Hassfurter striker duo Jan Trübenekr (46th) and Jakub Sramek (47th/57th) still had fun in the final third, showed the Bears their limits and produced the visitors' goals five to seven. With the Freisingers there was little left of the offensive urge of the first half hour. Nevertheless, Quirin Oexler proved with the consolation goal (51st) after a fine solo run from his own half of the field and a well-placed shot that even the bears can bite.

The SEF cracks absolutely have to do this more often.

Because after the end of the preliminary round, Freising is in the penultimate place in the table calculated according to the quotient rule with the fewest goals scored.

In the relegation round, the Bears will meet Selb, Bayreuth, Trostberg and Vilshofen.

All teams start from scratch and determine two playdown candidates in eight games each.
