A disaster occurred tonight (Monday) in Cameroon before the opening match between the local team and Comoros at the African Championship: seven people, including children, were killed as a result of being crushed at the entrance to the stadium.
While fans of the host team stormed towards the stadium, dozens were crushed and some of them were found dead as mentioned, with the incident even being documented in horrific videos circulated on social media.
The African News Agency LSI noted that about 40 wounded were rushed to Masassi Hospital, located 3 km from Paul Bay Stadium. 80% of the seats, which is probably the reason for the overcrowding that caused the tragedy.
