The Hispanic block of Ineos had been concentrated in the height of Colombia for several days, and trained daily on the usual roads of Bernal, near his city, Zipaquirá.
Three years ago, in the spring of 2019, Bernal suffered another accident while training.
It happened in Andorra, where he lived at the time.
The cyclist, who was preparing for the imminent Giro, broke his collarbone.
The fracture meant a change of plans.
He did not run the Giro but, two months later, the Tour.
He won it.
