The 16th round of the Athena Winner Women's Basketball League kicked off tonight (Monday) in a limited format, with only two games taking place, after three more were postponed due to players being verified for Corona in the various teams.
Maccabi Ramat Gan - Maccabi Girls Ashdod 67:72
Ashdod managed to produce a turnaround in the last quarter, but shots by James and Cels, and especially a three by Liny Harper, were the ones that determined the winning identity.
After eight losses this season in the league, Maccabi Ramat Gan could not afford another loss - certainly not against a team like Ashdod, which came after four consecutive victories and competes with it for a place in the playoffs.
It ended in 67:72 to the credit of the home team, who could draw a lot of encouragement from the level of willingness and sacrifice.
To Ramat Gan: Jenkins 19, James 15, Harper 15, Gerzon 9, Lev 7, Sals 7. To Ashdod: Boone 25, Vivians 17, Hightower 10, Cohen 7, Sahar 4, Dayan 2, Sha2.
Elitzur and Tel Aviv - AS Ramat Hasharon 91:73
A game against the top of the table was exactly what AS Ramat Hasharon needed to get out of the small crisis in the last few rounds. Brigitte Carlton and Shaturi Walker took the game on themselves in the first quarter and thanks to their 12 and 11 points (respectively).
To Tel Aviv: Leslie 23, Zlibansky 17, Moldro 16, Rafael 10, Peleg Peletz 6, Identity 1. To Ramat Hasharon: Carlton 32, Walker 25, Vatori 12, Rosenblum 8, Schuster 6, Karsh 5, Butterfly 3.
