The downhill Olympic champions are fighting for their place in the Olympics.

"It's a setback that I didn't want at such an important phase of the season," said Goggia in the Milan clinic, but she will do everything to "defend the title in the discipline I love the most".

So far, only the German ski legend Katja Seizinger (1994/98) has managed this in the downhill at the Olympics.

Goggia is considered a big favorite, she won eight of the last nine World Cup downhill runs and fell once.

On Saturday at the descent in Cortina she also triumphed "with 60 percent" after the accident in Zauchensee.

The Olympic downhill race will take place in China on February 15.
