The Brain Injury Charity Organization has criticized the decision to allow Sadio Mane to continue playing yesterday (Tuesday) during the quarter-finals of the African Championship against Cape Verde, after suffering a serious head injury.
Mana collided with Cape Verde goalkeeper Vaginio as he tried to get a Edward Mandy goalkeeper ball in the second half, causing both players to absorb a very hard blow to the head.
Vazinya suffered a concussion and stumbled while receiving off-field treatment for several minutes and was eventually even sent off after a VAR test.
Mana was allowed to return to the pitch after receiving medical treatment and shortly afterwards scored a brilliant goal and put Senegal ahead in the 62nd minute.
However, while Mana was celebrating with his teammates, he collapsed to the ground and then left the pitch shortly afterwards, complaining of a headache and heading to the hospital.
Later, Mana and Vazinya were photographed together smiling at the hospital.
Mana was later released and rejoined his teammates at the hotel where they were staying.

The charity, which deals with head injuries and among other things refers to the injuries of athletes, issued a harsh statement stating: "On the face of it, this seems to be another example of football that puts results before players' safety," it said. "A brain would certainly be considered a logical option in such a situation. Mana's health is in danger."
The organization added: "This is now a real test of leadership for the Confederation of African Football and the FIFA World Governing Body - especially if Senegal declare Mana fit for the quarter-finals on Sunday.
"If football wants to be taken seriously when it comes to concussions, it simply has to take action to enforce and strengthen its protocols."
