A tremendous drama resonated tonight in Washington, D.C., when the Los Angeles Clippers recorded one of the greatest comebacks in NBA history, sadly at the expense of the Washington Wizards and Danny Abdia.
The 35-point lead was available to Washington, who in the first half dwarfed its opponent and stopped it at 36 points, but then the second half came and the Wizards simply collapsed.
Distribution of loads, rest for the outstanding - whatever you define it, Wes Ansald Jr.'s game management has opened the door to a comeback that has not been recorded in the NBA for many years.
And the Clippers did storm through that door, while the Wizards tried their best to stop them.
Nine seconds to go it still looked like Washington would hold out, leading 109: 115, but that was not enough for her either.
Abdia scores.
Good first half,
Luke Conard from the Clippers came into the picture, who in the final nine seconds stitched seven consecutive unanswered points.
He first bombed a 3-pointer from 12 yards out, and after Washington lost the ball (failed to get an outside ball in time), Conard in a four-point action - a three-pointer and a foul from Bradley Bill - turned the score around and won the game.
Lost?
He got 21 minutes, in which he scored 11 points in 50% of the field, picked up 3 rebounds and handed out 2 assists.
He was also part of Washington's good minutes in the first half, but unfortunately, also took part in the collapse of the second half, in which the Clippers won 49:80.
Were we wrong?
Fixed!
