Werder Bremen coach (German D2), Marcus Anfang, was suspended on Wednesday for using a false Covid-19 vaccination certificate, the German Football Federation (DFB) said.
Anfang was also fined 20,000 euros by the DFB.
He had been dismissed last November by Werder, as well as his assistant coach Florian Junge, suspended Wednesday for ten months with a fine of 3,000 euros.
The two men had also tried to deceive the local health authorities so as not to be considered contact cases and to avoid being placed in quarantine after defender Marco Friedl tested positive.
As they have confessed and pleaded guilty, their one-year suspensions are suspended, with a probationary period, to allow them to train next season.
They had obtained false vaccination certificates during the summer of 2021.
