He was an exceptional Bosnian talent, who at the age of 19 had already reached the NBA • Now Jeanne Musa is trying to rekindle his career at Bruegen • The story of the hottest actor in Spain

One of the great stories this season in European basketball is that of the Bosnian Jeanne Musa.

At the age of 22 he already has a long and tumultuous career, and this season he came to Braugen from the city of Logo in Spain to make a "restart" to his career.

Meanwhile his and the team's results are very good.

The fascinating player lit up a modest club, an entire city and also the Spanish league.

Janan Musa, the Bosnian forward who was born in the city of Bihach and started playing basketball at the age of 8, came to the Croatian side Zabreb when he was 16 and already then made his Euroleague debut, playing in the team for three years, in the Euroleague and EuroCup.

At the same time, Musa played in Bosnia's youth teams and made big.

He won the European Championship with the Cadets, and was the king of the baskets at three European Championships at different ages.

He also won the king of baskets at the 2016 Under-17 World Championships, with 34 points per game.

In one game, against Taiwan, he scored 50 points.

In the senior team he played when he was 19 years old.

At that age he was already an NBA player, having been selected 29th in the 2018 draft by Brooklyn.

Here the question arises - should not the track have been reversed, i.e. first a year or two in a top European team and then move to the best league in the world?

He played two seasons in Brooklyn in the senior team, and also in the Development League.

He had 54 games for the Nets, 43 of them in the first season, where he averaged 4.8 points.

In the second season he played little (only 11 games), and it was clear that something was getting in the way.

Early last season Brooklyn moved him to Detroit, which quickly gave up his services, and the player decided to return to Europe.

He planned to make his comeback in a senior Euroleague team, and signed with Anadolu Zero.

But again the plans went awry.

Musa, who arrived during the season, failed to fit in, and the short episode at the club ended at the end of the season.

So he decided to change direction and go to a club that would lead on its own, even if he was not part of the European elite.

He chose Braugen, who was promoted to the first division in Spain this season.

The team is currently battling for a place in the top eight at the end of the first round, which will ensure integration in the King's Cup tournament.

This is already a great achievement - to remind you, in the 15 seasons before that the club was only one season in the senior league.

Found everywhere

Musa is a senior candidate to be the player of the season in Spain.

He leads the league scoring table with 20 points per game (44 percent for three), but his interest is not just the points.

He also takes five rebounds, delivers three assists and records 1.5 steals per game.

That is why he leads the league in the efficiency index as well.

This is an excellent athlete who can play in all positions between 1 and 4, because he does everything: leading a ball, scoring from the outside, penetrating the basket, rebounding.

Beyond that, he plays with great passion and enthusiasm (which is why he loses quite a bit - 3.3 per game), and so, alongside his personal success, he has turned the young Spanish club into a team that plays attractive and exciting basketball.

Last week, coach Paco Olmus left Braugen in favor of Burgos.

The new coach is the Croatian Veliko Mersic, who was also Musa's first coach at Zedbita.

We would not be surprised if the choice of Mersic was to suit Musa.

Armani Milan's assistant coach, Gianmarco Potzko, was then Mersic's assistant at Zavitza Zagreb.

I talked to him last season when the player joined Anadolu.

Putzko said at the time about Musa: "He is an actor who is first and foremost great to the artist. The first first impression was from his competitiveness. You immediately realized that he expects greatness from his career.

"He has a strong personality and already at the age of 16-17 he treated himself as someone who could handle everyone. He is very tough. He controls and leads the ball excellently and can also play as a coordinator. His main positions are 3 and 2, but now in European basketball he can play Also as Stretch 4.

"I followed and encouraged him when he was in the NBA and I think he came back because he wants to play. In the US his minutes were limited and he moved between the first team and the development league team.

Maybe he went there a little early.

People forget that he is in his early 20s and not 26-27 years old. "

With all the romance, it's clear that Braugen is just the Bosnian's bouncer on the way back to the high levels.

Next season he will already be in the Euroleague, and do not be surprised if you later see him in version 2.0 in the NBA.
