After 2018, the German biathletes also want to ensure a rain of medals at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing.

Munich – With the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, one of the biggest sporting highlights of 2022 is already around the corner.
From February 4th to 20th, the best athletes in China will fight for the coveted medals.
The biathlon competitions are once again among the most popular events of the games this year, with the best athletes in the world running and shooting for the podium in a total of eleven races.
Similar to alpine skiing, the competitions do not take place directly in the Chinese capital, but just outside in the Nordic Ski and Biathlon Center in Kuyangshu, around 190 km north of Beijing.
Biathlon at the 2022 Olympics: Germany 2018 the most successful
In Pyeongchang, no other nation was able to win as many medals in biathlon as the DSV-Adler: three gold, one silver and three bronze went to the German account.
The biggest problem, however, is that the two Olympic champions - Laura Dahlmeier (sprint and pursuit) and Arnd Peiffer (sprint) - have now ended their careers and there is currently no direct German medal candidate in sight.
Among the women, the World Cup leader Marte Olsbu (Norway) and the Swedes with Elvira and Hanna Öberg can hope for medals.
For the men, the focus is once again on the French around Quentin Fillon Maillet and the Norwegian Bø brothers.
