The transfer of the German national soccer player Robin Gosens from Atalanta Bergamo to Inter Milan is perfect.
The Italian champions confirmed this on Thursday evening.
First, Inter is loaning the left-back until the end of the season.
There is then a purchase obligation, Gosen's new contract runs until summer 2026.
»I really want to take off and get started.
I can't wait to be on the pitch with coach Simone Inzaghi and the team," Gosens said on Inter TV.
At the traditional club from Milan "there were great champions who made history with this club," said Gosens, who has been out since the end of September with a thigh injury: "I hope I can continue writing this story and I can't wait, everything , what I have to put on the pitch for Inter.«
He was "very proud that I've arrived in one of the biggest teams in Europe, I'm overjoyed to be here." Gosens is scheduled to make his comeback at the end of February.
Thanks in Italian
He also thanked the Bergamo fans in an Instagram post – in Italian.
As an "unknown, the club gave him the opportunity to play in Serie A," said Gosens.
There he grew "as a player and as a man", had "incredible experiences and found friends for life".
Nevertheless, there are such great opportunities in a footballer's life "only once, and that's why I'm very happy to sign with Inter," Gosens explained.
A club statement said: 'With commitment, seriousness and spirit you have earned a leading role at Atalanta these seasons, helping to score prestigious and unforgettable goals.
Thank you for everything Robin and good luck in your new experience«.
Gosens moved to Bergamo from Dutch club Heracles Almelo in 2017.
There he developed into a leading player, impressed with strong performances in the Champions League, among other places, and played for the German national team at the European Championships last summer.
He is the ninth German to wear the Inter Milan shirt.
Lothar Matthäus, Andreas Brehme, Jürgen Klinsmann, Matthias Sammer and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, among others, had played for the traditional club in the past.
