Spain's Rafael Nadal, ranked fifth in the world, qualified for the final of the Australian Open, the first grand slam in tennis, after defeating his seventh Italian rival, Matteo Berrettini, today.
Nadal defeated Berrettini 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 in the semi-finals.
Nadal, 35, is seeking the 21st Grand Slam title in his professional career to break the record he shares with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
Nadal will meet in the final tomorrow with the second Russian Daniil Medvedev or the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas fourth.
