Arrival of the fifth:
10- 12 - 4 - 5 - 11
Disputed on a very flexible track (4.1 on the penetrometer), the quinté of the day was set at the Pau racecourse (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).
This steeplechase event brought together sixteen competitors, aged 5 to 12, on the 4,000m course.
A big handicap which gave pride of place to the outsiders with the fall of
Gooaaal
(n° 4) which hampered the other horse in sight,
Genesis As
(n° 6).
The victory went to
Bandero
(#10).
Anne-Sophie Pacault's representative quickly found himself in a good position then took the best jump over the last hurdle, easily dominating his opponents to finish.
This 6-year-old gelding wins his first quinté for the occasion and offers a second event to his partner, Thomas Henderson.
"We had a great run," said the jockey at Equidia's microphone.
He's great to ride.
I let him do it, and he won well.

Bandero (T.Henderson/Anne-Sophie Pacault) was perfect in his jumps and Bandero won the Prix Annie Hutton, the Quinté+ of the day at @Hippodrome_Pau!

Black Boa
(No. 12) confirms his third place on January 17 in a similar event.
After taking the train on his own, he grabs the first runner-up without worrying the winner.
Arriving third,
Sternkranz
(No. 4) performed remarkably well.
Located at the back of the peloton, he was not happy at the big open ditch after the fall of
Dieu Merci
(n° 14) but ended up in a pleasant action.
Ite Missa Est
(n° 5) and
Lord Dragon
(n° 11) were not at all expected at such a party and complete the good combination while
Follow me Soldier
(n° 1),
Gooaaal
(n° 8 ) and
thank goodness
(n° 14) were at fault and ejected their partner.
