Shiffrin worries about safety
4:52 a.m .: Ski
star Mikaela Shiffrin has expressed concern about the wind conditions in Yanqing.
“Ideally, nobody gets hit by one of those strong gusts that almost blow you off the mountain,” Shiffrin said.
"The speed of travel with the wind... This is not only a challenge, but also very dangerous."
Shiffrin wants to start in all five alpine ski competitions: downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom and the combination.
The 26-year-old is considered the best driver of her generation and has already won two gold medals in 2014 in Sochi (slalom) and 2018 in Pyeongchang (giant slalom).

Downhill training cancelled
4:29 a.m .:
The third downhill training session for alpine ski racers was canceled after three starters.
The reason is "too strong wind", as the World Ski Association Fis announced.
The weather conditions on Xiaohaituo Mountain in Yanqing had already caused changes the day before.
Actually, the last German starting place for the race on Sunday (4.00 a.m. CET) was to be decided on Saturday in a team-internal decision.
It was initially unclear whether Vice World Champion Andreas Sander or Simon Jocher would be allowed to start.
