The 34-year-old guard arrived from Vienna at Madrid's Brahms Airport ahead of a connecting flight to the Dominican Republic, and when he approached the boarding area, the ground dailies asked him to put on a mask.
According to eyewitnesses who told Marca, Lawson reacted violently and even punched one of the flight attendants.
The Civil Guard arrived to evacuate the troubled American from the area and took him to a police station located at the airport.
As mentioned, this is another incident out of a series of cases for which Lawson is responsible.
In 2008, even before he reached the NBA, the guard was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, and in 2017 he was cut from the Sacramento Kings for a disciplinary offense.
After being ejected from the best league in the world and moving to China, he was thrown out after posting on social media a sexist and abusive post against a local woman.
A lot has changed since then.

Lawson was selected 18th in the 2009 draft by Denver, where he spent the six most successful years of his career, including four seasons averaging more than 15 points per game.
In 2015 Lawson traded to Houston and created a promising back line with James Harden, but the combination did not work, and after brief episodes in Indiana, Sacramento and Washington he was ejected from the league.
Lawson recently played for Colossus Rhodes from the Greek league.
