That's it, the African Championship for 2022 came to an end tonight (Sunday) with a new and historic champion - Senegal.
Sadio Mane's team dreamed of a first trophy for them after finishing twice in the past as runners-up (2002, 2019) - and this time they met the task and managed to lift the trophy.

After 0: 0 at the end of 90 minutes, the final game in Cameroon between Egypt and Senegal went into extra time, but even after another half hour of football neither team was able to find the net - and the final was decided in a duel from the penalty spot.
After two Egyptian players and one from Senegal missed, Sadio Mane went on to kick Senegal's fifth kick - closing out an interest with 2: 4 on penalties.
His Liverpool team-mate Muhammad Salah was supposed to be Egypt’s fifth kicker, but he didn’t even get a chance to score and wept bitterly at the end.
Salah in shock at the end,
Were we wrong?
Fixed!
