The Olympic Games in Beijing are not without controversy, as some statements and, above all, impressions prove.

Like a photo of a ski star.

Beijing/Yanqing - Sitting in the gondola on the way to the summit, you can often enjoy a wonderful view of untouched nature in winter.

Mostly white peaks, snow-covered trees, animal tracks in deep snow - but that's not the case at the Olympic Games.

Some athletes and journalists have already shown pictures of the mountain landscape, which had a lot to offer but no snow.

While the slopes glitter in white in the Alpine panorama, in China it is the artificial snow slopes and bare rocks.

This was proven once again by a recent Beijing photo of the Austrian ski ace Tamara Tippler, who took a picture from the lift to the summit to share her impressions with the fans.

She wrote about the snapshot: "It's hard to believe that five minutes later you're on top slopes, right?" She shared the picture with her fans on Instagram.

You can see: sparse bushes, a paved road, rocks, blue sky.

The photo could have been taken in midsummer and is more reminiscent of mountainous coastal landscapes on Mediterranean islands.

Tamara Tippler did not take part in the first women's decision, the giant slalom, in alpine skiing at these Olympic Games.

She is a specialist in speed competitions such as Super-G and Downhill.

These will take place on February 11th and 15th.

Tippler showed her fans how steep the slopes actually are, because that's not so easy to see on TV.

Olympia 2022: steep slope - or does that not go down so well on TV?

"It all seems a lot flatter on TV, doesn't it?" Tippler asks her fans.

Kira Weidle from Germany and Sofia Goggia from Italy also take part in the downhill and the Super-G.

Upon arrival, Weidle showed that it can be very confusing in the metropolis, Goggia tore his cruciate ligament and broke his fibula - on January 23, 2022. Nevertheless, she takes part in the games.
