Overtime again, this time with a happy ending: EC Peiting scored two points in Lindau on Tuesday - also because Nardo Nagtzaam wasn't unsettled by a mistake.

Lindau - Again "overtime" for EC Peiting: For the third time in the last four games, the team had to play an extra time.

Unlike the last 2:3 in Rosenheim, there was reason to celebrate on Tuesday evening: the away game against the "Islanders" of EV Lindau was won by coach Anton Saal's team 4:3.

"We didn't give up and rewarded ourselves for a hard piece of work," said Saal.

It was already clear to him before the game that it would be difficult, according to the ECP coach.

The Lindauers were able to muster four complete blocks.

The people from Peiting, on the other hand, only had three rows available.

This time, defender Lukas Motloch occupied the second contingent position alongside Nardo Nagtzaam.

The reason was the failure of Maximilian Söll.

Striker Marco Habermann was there again.

The Lindauers got off to a good start.

Once the puck even landed on the outer post of the ECP case (3rd).

But the “Islanders” didn't really get going.

This was also ensured by Dominic Krabbat, who, after a cross pass from Nagtzaam across the field, scored with a low shot to make it 1-0 (5th).

Shortly thereafter, Peiting's second goal was in the air: Habermann shot at goal from a tight angle, the puck bounced back from the inside of the post (6').

As a result, the Peitinger prevented the Lindau build-up game quite well.

There were hardly any great opportunities for the hosts - even if the official statistics recorded twelve EVL shots on goal.

The usual strong ECP keeper Florian Hechenrieder cleared a solid shot from Dominik Patocka with his shoulder.

The goalkeeper hardly got anything to do in two overpowered games by the "Islanders" (8th, 16th) - the penalty kill by Peitinger (the second best in the Oberliga Süd) worked once again.

"We played a good first third," said Saal.

In the second half of the game, both teams had urge phases, but Lindau had the advantage.

Saal was critical: In the middle section "we lost the thread a bit." Motloch interrupted Julian Tischendorf at the last moment on the way to a goal (22nd).

As a result, the ECP came close to scoring through Motloch and Lukas Gohlke (he had deflected a shot from Alexander Winkler).

After a Peitinger power play was unsuccessful despite good chances from Florian Stauder, Simon Maier and Andreas Feuerecker, the Lindauers struck: Nolan Redler scored after a counterattack and a strong move to make it 1-1 (34th).

Now it went back and forth quickly.

Ty Morris, hit in the face by a bat in the first period, put the puck on the side netting (38').

Before the third break, the Lindauers still had various dangerous offensive scenes.

The final third began with two mistakes by two ECP top performers.

Hechenrieder was unlucky when trying to shoot away the disc behind the goal when he was outnumbered: The puck – which the keeper didn't hit properly – got to Florian Lüsch, who scored to make it 2-1 (43rd).

In the same minute, Nagtzaam allowed the puck to be stolen in his own zone, Redler scored 3:1.

Peiting recovered quickly.

"The morale was right," said coach Saal.

First Morris failed twice after a rebound (47th).

A few moments later, Gohlke won a face-off – Tim Mühlegger got the puck and smashed it into the corner to make it 2:3.

What followed was an up and down with chances for both sides.

Lindaus Lüsch missed the empty goal (49th).

Immediately afterwards, ECP defender Fabian Weyrich injured himself (probably on his knee) and had to leave the ice – on top of that, the ECP received a penalty.

Outnumbered, Habermann narrowly missed a break (52nd).

The end of the well-played Maier parried the strong EVL goalkeeper Matthias Nemec (57th).

The people from Peiting tried again with six field players - seven seconds before the end, Morris actually scored to make it 3:3.

The majority was balanced for a long time until Nagtzaam started a solo and skillfully sunk the puck with the backhand of the racquet to make it 4:3 (64 th ).

Saal described the overtime victory as "lucky, but also worked out".
