After a long effort of about a year and a half by the mayor and staff of the bureau, today (Tuesday) the board of directors of Sami Ofer Stadium Company approved the establishment of the Maccabi Haifa Football Club Museum, which includes the Haifa Municipality, Maccabi Haifa Football Club, Haifa Economic Company and the stadium company.
The museum will be established in the Sami Ofer Stadium by the club at a European standard and at a cost estimated at millions of shekels, when a special budget was allocated by the economic company to develop the museum's infrastructure.
The museum will be a significant milestone in the promotion of sports and culture in Israel in general and in Haifa in particular, and will contribute together with the club's flagship store to be established next to it, to the development of the stadium in the coming years.
The museum is expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors a year and be a leader and unique in leading the sports culture in Israel.
The Mayor of Haifa, Dr. Einat Klish Rotem, and the President of the Maccabi Haifa Club, Mr. Yaakov Shachar, welcomed the progress of the project and said that they believe it will also be approved by the City Council at its meeting next Tuesday.
