Olympia – Shortly before the start of the ice hockey tournament, the future of national coach Toni Söderholm is still open.
DEB captain Moritz Müller takes a clear position:
On Thursday (February 10), the Olympics also start for the German national ice hockey team*.

National coach Toni Söderholm's contract expires in May after this year's World Cup.
The DEB has already held initial talks with the 43-year-old, but there has not yet been any agreement to report.
Söderholm has announced that he wants to make a decision after the Olympics.
The Finn ended his career as a player with EHC Red Bull Munich in 2016.
In the summer of 2017, he will take up his first position as head coach at SC Riessersee.

Shortly before the start of the Olympics, DEB captain Moritz Müller clearly spoke out in favor of Söderholm staying.

," says Müller in an interview with the German Press Agency.

Everything must be done to ensure that he stays.
DEB President Franz Reindl has described the previous discussions with the national ice hockey coach as "absolutely good".

At the Olympics in Beijing, the German national ice hockey team* is in the group phase* against Canada (February 10), host China (February 12) and the USA (February 13).
The group winners and the best runners-up advance directly to the quarter-finals.
The remaining teams play out a quarter-final qualifier.
On February 19th and 20th it will be decided who will get the coveted medals.
