Natalie Geisenberger has won her fifth Olympic gold in luge.
The record world champion prevailed at the Winter Games in Beijing on Tuesday after four runs ahead of her teammate Anna Berreiter, who immediately won silver in her Olympic debut.
Bronze went to Tatyana Ivanova of Russia.
World Champion Julia Taubitz (Oberwiesenthal) clearly missed the podium in seventh place after her fall the day before.
By winning gold medals, Geisenberger drew level with Claudia Pechstein, the most successful German winter Olympian to date.
In the team relay on Thursday, she can now even secure the sole record ahead of the speed skater.
