Tahil Gill, an Australian curler, tested positive ahead of the mixed match against Switzerland.

That actually means: the Olympics are over!

Her playing partner Dean Hewitt was already preparing to move to the quarantine hotel and leave.

But then they were allowed to start!

But why?

Gill, who was previously infected with the virus in January, was released from the quarantine hotel by China's health authorities because her PCR test showed the CT value was acceptable.

Australia then defeated Switzerland - with Gill on the ice!

But that made one person angry in particular: Srdjan Djkokovic, the father of tennis star Novak.

"Australians, learn from the Chinese how athletes are respected and valued," he wrote on Instagram: "Ashamed of yourself a thousandfold!"

In the end, the Australian curling mixed had little to do with the fight for the medals.

Italy won the Olympics, beating Norway in the final.

Bronze went to Sweden.

Gill and Hewitt ultimately finished ninth.

But at least they were allowed to start.

Unlike Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open.
