Niklas Süle is leaving FC Bayern on a free transfer and will switch to Borussia Dortmund next summer.
FCB President Herbert Hainer reacted smugly.
Munich - No FC Barcelona or FC Chelsea - Niklas Süle will play for Borussia Dortmund next season!
The central defender leaves FC Bayern* free of charge and joins the eternal rival BVB of all things.
For the black and yellow, the Süle coup is of course an absolute mega deal.
For BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke, “all the arguments in this constellation spoke in favor of this transfer.
Niklas Süle is a free transfer national player in the prime of life with a lot of international experience.
It's clear that BVB will strike there.
It remains questionable why Süle is drawn to Dortmund at the age of 26.
Some frustration towards Munich can be heard from the national player.
Right from the start he had the feeling at BVB that he was "wanted as a person and as a footballer," he told the

.
He felt "immediately from the first contact that those responsible at the club were very interested in working with me".

And FC Bayern?
After Jérôme Boateng, Javi Martinez and David Alaba, he loses the next kicker of international format on a free transfer.
Nevertheless, Herbert Hainer couldn't resist a little dig at Süle on Tuesday.
He "didn't think now," said the FCB president in surprise, "that it was his first choice".
He also doesn't believe "that it's a sporting climb.
It will be exciting to see him on the other side."
Süle signed a four-year contract with BVB and will meet Mats Hummels there, with whom he had already played in a Bayern jersey between 2017 and 2019.

It was only on Saturday that some Bayern stars were upset about Süle's departure.
"We are all annoyed that Niklas is leaving, we will miss him," said captain Manuel Neuer after winning the top game against RB Leipzig (3-2), in which Süle showed a strong performance.
It is not yet clear who FC Bayern will bring to Säbener Straße as a replacement.
There are enough candidates.
Stars like Matthias Ginter (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Antonio Rüdiger (Chelsea FC) are also available on a free transfer from the summer.
