The full trade
In addition to McCollum, Larry Nance Jr. and Tony Snell have also moved to the Pelicans, with Josh Hart, Tomasz Storansky, Nickil Alexander Walker and Didi Luzada doing the opposite.
The Pelicans will also add a first-round pick and a second-round pick to the deal.
The team from Louisiana has recently been looking for a senior guard to join the talented front line, and after failing to sign Kyle Laurie last summer, they are now hoping McCollum will meet their demands.
McCollum has signed a $ 100 million contract until the end of the 2023/24 season.
The guard selected ninth in the 2013 draft played his entire career in the Blazers and collaborated in the back line with Damien Lillard.
Now, the 2016 improving player will reach his second team of his career, where he will collaborate with Brandon Ingram, and hopefully later also with Zion Williamson, who has not played since last season.
A new era in New Orleans
The two teams are fighting each other for a place in the playoffs.
The Pelicans are ranked 10th in the West with a 32:21 balance, while the Blazers who are ranked 11th are close to them with a 33:21 balance.
In 564 games in the Blazers uniform, McCollum averaged 19 career points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
This season McCollum is hitting 20.5 per game (the lowest since his second season in the league) and hitting 38% off the arc.
After starting his career in the Lakers uniform and moving to the Pelicans as part of the trade to Anthony Davis, Hart will now join his third team in his career.
This season Hart averaged a record 13.4 points and 4.1 assists, picking up 7.8 rebounds per game.
