The Catalan club, looking for its main sponsor, has apparently reached an agreement with the music platform for a substantial amount.

Revolution beyond the Pyrenees.

Short of money, FC Barcelona is going to change its main sponsor... and that's not going to please everyone.

Not because there will be a new name on the Blaugrana shirt.

Rather, the legendary club stadium could also be renamed Camp Nou Spotify.

A sacrilege to come for the emblematic and very numerous Catalan supporters.

Spotify will be FC Barcelona's main sponsor from next season;

the agreement is complete.

However, they could also occupy the naming rights of the stadium: 'Camp Nou Spotify'.@totcosta [🎖️]

Long indifferent to the sponsor who basically bars the jersey of the players, Barça has moved in this direction.

Five years ago, Rakuten landed on every player's picture.

The Japanese e-commerce giant will in principle give way to the Swedish music streaming company, which has contacted the club.

The Catalan daily Sport reveals that the agreement would be around 60 million euros (against 55 for Rakuten).

Good news for the club which has nearly a billion in debt.

Where the transaction can go further is that Spotify is thinking even bigger.

Some time ago, Daniel Ek, its football-loving president, had already wanted to buy Arsenal.

The idea would now be to associate the name of his company with the very enclosure of the multiple champion of Spain and Europe.

We are talking about an amount of at least 400 million euros over 20 years for an operation of this kind.

It remains to be seen how the socios will react.

Blasphemy is not very far.
