The boy, 16 years old and winner of one of the promotion cups promoted by the organizers of MotoGP, died after falling while training on a small track

The young Czech pilot Jakub Gurecky passed away this Monday at the age of 16.

The boy, who was the 2021 champion of the Northern Talent Cup – one of those one-make cups promoted by Dorna, the MotoGP organizing company, to look for young talents who may one day reach the Motorcycle World Championship – lost his life as a result of an accident that occurred when he was training with a minibike on a small track in Slovakia.

Gurecky lost control of his motorcycle and suffered trauma that caused a brain hemorrhage.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, but nothing could be done to save his life.

How to avoid more rider deaths without detracting from motorcycle racing

The boy, one of the great promises of Czech motorcycling, was preparing to debut this year in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, another one-make competition considered the prelude to the Motorcycle World Championship.

The most talented riders in the world are seeking a place on the Red Bull grid as a preliminary step to their debut in the Moto3 category.

The news of Gurecky's death comes hours after the death of American rider Jason Aguilar, a regular in the MotoAmerica championship and who lost his life at the age of 25 after suffering an accident when he was training on a bike last Saturday.
